Here is a song by Ben Folds who covered a Dre Dre song. The lyrics are very explicit so I apologize for that, but it's still a great song. Have a listen.
Andy Samburg has made a lot of hilarious music videos over the years and this one is no exception. "I Threw it on the Ground"! I kinda want to remix this song, same with the one above.
Not sure how this one got stuck in my head. It's an older one by Linkin Park called Papercut. I used to be a big fan of these guys back in the day. Still good.
Update 1-23-14
Songs get stuck in my head more than ever now. It seems any time I hear a song, even if it is just a quick clip, it will be looping in my head for hours. It's bad when you get a really catch song stuck in your head and no matter how hard you try, it just keeps playing. I have actually started to avoid music because of this or at lease make sure to never listen to a song more than once in a row otherwise I'm doomed. Anyone else have this problem?

December Music Recommendation
So it has been a while since I have posted an update. I haven't been following music as closely these days. You really need to have a lot of free time to stay on top of the current music scene and I guess I have been busy with other things. I kinda feel like I have accumulated a lifetime worth of music already so I don't really need any more hehe. But, there are always a few new songs to check out.
The newest band I have taken a liking to is called The Teenagers. They are a band with kind of an indie rock sound mixed with a little electronica. Their music is a little raw and unpolished, but the content is great. It's the kind of music that can be remixed into amazing songs. Here's one of their hit's called "Feeling Better" It's an anthem. Pardon the Gossip Girl video, just listen to the song.
Next song rec, one by a band called Bran Van 3000 called "Drinking in L.A." This is one from the 90's that I recently discovered. Can't believe I never heard it back then. It totally has that 90's alt rock sound I am fond of. It has a laid back style and a very catchy chorus. Have a listen:
Any Lady Sovereign fans out there? If not, you might not like this one. If so, and you haven't heard this one, check it out! It's her 1st rapping appearance, on a track called "The Battle" featuring a few other rappers of the same style. This is SOV ripping it up on the mic. She doesn't even sound like this anymore. Her new songs are good, but I just love this style.

Samsung and Comcast customer service not so good
So my previous post was praising the great customer service of Amazon. Now this one is about my dissatisfaction with Samsung and Comcast.
So I get the Samsung tv and I start putting it together. I'm screwing the parts together for the base stand and I find the screws will not go in very well. In fact I used all my strength and could not get them in all the way. I looked up the problem and it seems a few other people have had the same problem. So I contact Samsung about it. They reply telling me to buy new screws for it. Excuse me? You want me to buy new screws for a brand new tv that came with the wrong screws? I don't think so. I paid a lot for this new tv. The least I would expect is that the parts fit together properly. So I wrote them another email a couple days ago and haven't even heard back from them. Not good Samsung.
Next up Comcast. I call up their 800 number to ask about setting up new internet service. I'm on hold waiting for sales for about 10 minutes listening to the same 30 second melody loop over and over. Comcast, can you please get some better music for your customers on hold? The song doesn't even loop correctly. So finally I get a person on the line. I tell her what I need and she apparently didn't understand so she transfers me to technical support. Another 10 minutes on hold. I get on with tech support and explain what I need. They transfer me back to sales. Another 10 minutes on hold listening to the same annoying music loop. By this time my cell phone is low on batteries so I have to hang up and try again later.
I decide to try Comcast internet support. This time I get a person to help by chat. She is helpful but I find Comcasts prices are not as good as they seem. Pretty much all of them are limited time or must be bundled together to get the advertised rate. So not being satisfied with their prices, I hold off.
Finally I call a local comcast Representative and get some good answers. He tells me exactly how it is at Comcast and gives me the numbers straight so I can get the best deal. He also worked with me and helped me waive the installation costs. (Comcast online wanted to charge $100 for it). The local rep walked me through the steps, and came over to finish installation within the hour! So overall Comcast phone service, not good. Local Comcast representative good!
TV Update:
Ok so I decided to go to Menards to get some different screws for the TV stand. I want to take this opportunity to say Menards is my new favorite store. They have a huge selection of everything you need for your house and the prices are great too! I have found the store to be well run and the employees are generally friendly and helpful. Anyway, so I brought in the screws that didn't fit and asked to get smaller screws. The employees helped me find the ones I was looking for. So I get home, try out the new screws, and they fit perfectly! So yeah the TV is in good shape now.

Amazon customer service rocks!
So I recently ordered a tv from Amazon.com. When it arrived, the box and packaging was damaged. I was expecting this because the tracking information had noted this a few days prior. So as direct by a customer service email, I had them take it back and set up a replacement exchange. I was told it would take about 7 days for shipping which I was ok with. The next day I get a call from the management at my building saying there was a tv waiting for me. I was really confused because there was no way it could be there that fast. Then I thought, probably the delivery guys left it in the office and I had to return it myself. I also thought this was the case because I got an email from Amazon with a return shipping label. Just to make sure I logged into Amazon and checked the tracking of the new tv. And guess what? It said it was delivered already! I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today! Wow that was fast. Amazon is the best!

Inspirational song about standing up against bullying
I just discovered a powerful song that deals with the subject of bullying and making a stand against it. The song is Hero (Red Pill Mix) by the band Superchick. There is so much abuse occurring between youths in today's schools. Often times we see it and do nothing about it. This song brings this to our attention and lets us know that we can make a difference and help put a stop to it.

Real Life Heroes
The other day my sister's car wouldn't start. It seemed the battery was dead, so I got the jumper cables out of the trunk, pulled up along side her car and charged up the battery. I was proud of myself because this was the 1st time I jump started a car!
Later that day she goes to start it again, but guess what? It does not start. We decide to jump it again. This time we know it's probably more than just a dead battery, so we decide to drive it over to my dad's car place to get repaired.
Here's where it gets interesting. I'm driving along side her just in case the car dies again. As luck would have it, it dies out again and this time it happened at a pretty busy intersection. So I find a way to pull over and park. I see a couple teens walking down the street and ask them if they can help out. Reluctantly they did and helped us push the car to the side of the road. I thanked them. Still we are on a busy street blocking traffic. All of a sudden out of no where 2 other guys show up and start helping us push it more. They help us get it off the busy road into a parking lot. These guys were awesome and I don't even know where they came from. Many thank you's to those guys that helped us! May good fortune come your way.
That's not the end of the story. We call AAA for a tow. They say they will send a tow truck in 2 hours. That's a long time so we are hanging around, and we decide to jump it again. We get it running pretty good and drive it around the lot. I felt silly having a tow truck come tow it when we are currently driving it around. So we decide to risk it and try to drive it to our destination. Big mistake. It goes for about 2 miles then dies again at another busy intersection. This time no one around to help and we can't move it off the street. This kind of thing is the worst. It is very stressful. People are honking and getting pissed off. So we call 911 to get a police officer out to block traffic. He shows up in about 5 minutes. We explain the situation and he says he can get us a tow in about 5 minutes. So we do that. The tow truck driver was very nice and towed the truck to the car service place. It ended up costing about $125. Luckily we can submit the claim to AAA and they should cover at least some of the bill.
Overall it was a though day. From this situation I learned the importance of making sure your car is in good condition before taking it out so it doesn't stall in the middle of traffic. If it does, call for help as soon as possible. If you see someone in need of help, be a hero and help them out. The world needs more heroes!

Progress
I know the information on my blog is still pretty empty, but I'm still getting the hang of it. I'll fill in more as I get more comfortable with the layout and options. At 1st this blogger site seemed kinda limited until I found you could add all these widgets to make it more interesting. I should be adding more of those soon. My one suggestion would be to make the layout easier to resize. I managed to adjust it by changing the html code, but it should be easier than that. Other than that, so far so good.
And while were at it, how about a music suggestion :)

Music Recomendations
One thing I am passionate about is music. I have been following the trend of music blogs lately and I thought it would be fun to blog about music that I like. I will post new music finds as well as old music that needs to be remembered.
Here to start out is a song called "Your Woman" by the band White Town. It's kind of a one hit wonder from the 90's but the song is great. Check it out.
This one has been out for a while but I'm just now getting into it more. It's "That's Not My Name" by The Ting Tings. They are a cute duo from the UK. Be careful, this song can easily get stuck in your head hehe.
This is a new one by my buddy Delario who is a rapper/producer from Norway. He did a remix of his song "Watch Yourself" with Paul Bernard. This video turned out great!
have a look:
Last one for the reggae fans out there. I think reggae is one of those genres that is under represented at least in the mainstream. This song is by Jimmy Cliff called Treat the Youths Right. Enjoy!

First Blog
Hey world, just testing out my new blog. Not sure exactly what will be on it, but everyone these days should have a blog right? We'll see how it goes. Stay tuned!
