I recently did some research on personality types and found it to be quite interesting. I found this site that describes in detail 16 different personality types. You can check it out here. The site looks a bit outdated, but the information there is excellent. You can figure out which kind of personality you are, then you can see things like, what kind of people you match up with well, and what kinds of jobs are good for people like you.
I turned out to be an ISTJ which stands for Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging. It was fascinating to read the description. It's like they know you better than you do. If you ever have trouble describing yourself, find out which of these personalities suits you and it will give you a ton of ideas.
One thing I found interesting was the stats they revealed. I figured most people would fit into the same few personalities and maybe a small percentage would fit into others, but according to their survey, the spread is very even throughout all 16 types. And these personalities span from one end of the spectrum to the other. That means that there are so many different personalities out there. It really explains how people are so different from each other.
It makes me wonder, how is this possible. Why are people so different when it comes to who they are, what they believe and what they value. It brings up the topic of nature vs. nurture. Are people born with a personality type, or do they learn it? They say you can change your personality, so maybe it is a little bit of both. Whatever the case may be, this topic of personality is very interesting and everyone should learn about it.

New Domain Name Connectedisolation.com
New logo idea |
I started this blog as just an experiment to see what I would do with it. Now that a couple years have gone by and I am still writing in this blog and taking it seriously, I thought now would be a good time to register the domain name. Connected Isolation has been the name from the beginning and now it has the url to match.
Why the name you may ask? I picked it to represent myself and everyone else who uses the internet, specifically from home. We are "connected" by the internet, yet "isolated" from each other in reality. It's an oxymoron I guess with 2 words that are somewhat opposites, yet when put together it actually describes our situations accurately.
I'm hoping that by having the new domain name it will give a little more credibility to the blog and possibly bring in more traffic from search results. I will definitely be keeping an eye on the traffic numbers to see if anything changes and I will be sure to report back here.
If you have any thoughts on blogging, domain names, or tips, feel free to share them in the comments below.
UPDATE: 3-4-12
So a little over a month has passed and I haven't seen much of a change in traffic. The page views seem to depend more on the posts written. When you write something and it catches on, that's when you get a lot of traffic. It is nice to have a domain name though and I think it improves the perceived quality of the website.

TV Show Review: Remodeled, Mobbed, Bachelor, Celebrity Wife Swap, More
Time for another update/review of shows that I am watching or have decided not to watch.
Remodeled - This is a new reality show on the CW where this fashion CEO guy goes around and tries to save struggling modeling agencies. It pretty much Kitchen Nightmares but instead of Ramsey fixing up restaurants, it's this guy fixing up modeling agencies. The show was ok, not great. I don't think I'm going to keep watching it. There are certain people on tv that really bother me, for example Zooey Deschanel. On this show, it's the assistant guy who looks like a gothic emo with an attitude problem. Some actors and shows just irritate me to no end. I might have to just chill out and watch travel shows for now on. But I digress, back to the list.
UPDATE: 8-14-12 Ok that assistant guy Joseph from Remodeled is growing on me and I actually think he is the best part of the show now. It's fun to see him out of place as he deals with families from small towns.
Mobbed - This is Howie Mandel's new show where he creates flash mobs for people who want to make a big announcement to surprise someone. I really liked the first episode this season where the singer guy asked his long time internet girl friend to be in a real relationship with him. The episode was perfect. The last episode however was not that great. I was not impressed with the scenario or the reaction from the people involved. I will keep watching this show and hope that they maintain a high quality.
The Bachelor - I never really got into the Bachelor or Bachelorette shows. This season, I have been watching it a bit, but I don't want to. It pretty much like there is nothing else on so I flip to it, or go to it during a commercial break. I just think shows like this are so bad for us to watch because they are unrealistic and portray an image that is not what real people are like. I would much rather see the "Average Joe" style show where you have real looking people interacting, not just people that look like models.
Celebrity Wife Swap - I have been watching this for a few weeks, but I have not been impressed. The celebrities are not that good and really aren't adding much to the show. In fact, I think the regular version of the show where they pick on people based on their characteristics, and switch them up, results in a more entertaining show. I may stick with this one, only if the celebs are known and interesting.
Alcatraz - A new series on FOX. It didn't look that great on the previews. I watched a bit of the pilot episode and it did not hook me. Probably won't be watching this one.
Betty White's Off Their Rockers - This is a hidden camera show with old people. I'm not sure if it was a special or if it is a series. I do enjoy hidden camera shows, but this one was just ok at best. Check out my previous post about Just For Laughs for better hidden camera jokes.
Are You There Chelsea - This is Chelsea Handler's new sitcom. I just caught some of it the other day. From what I understand, it is based on her, but she is not playing herself, but instead, she is playing her sister? I find this strange. I think she should have played herself. The show did not catch me and I probably won't watch it.
Noticing a pattern? Looks like the new shows are not doing to well, at least in my opinion. Maybe I'm just watching the wrong shows. I'm sure there are some good dramas on, or maybe some better shows on cable. What do you suggest?

Just For Laughs Gags and Pranks
There is a Youtube channel called JustForLaughsTV which has over 2000 funny videos. They are hidden camera style and usually only have music and sound effects. It's amazing how they can make so many different videos without even having to explain it with words. I have only just scratched the surface of this channel, but already I've seen tons of hilarious videos. Here are some of my favorites so far.
Little Kid Buys Drinks for Older Women
Invisible Wall
Bystanders Become Author at Book Signing
There are a lot more of these videos and they can be very addictive. They are great if you have some free time and are in the mood for a quick laugh.

New Year, Blog Updates
It's been a couple weeks since I wrote a new blog. I took a little break because I wanted my best of the year posts to have some time at the top. Although I have taken a break, I am constantly thinking of new topics to write about and writing down notes. As I get more traffic on this blog, it's hard to decide what to write about. I feel like somethings might not be important enough. This often happens to people on Youtube. They start a channel just doing whatever they want, but as soon as they get subscribers, they feel the pressure to produce a certain level of content. While I don't have tons of readers yet, I still feel like I have to put out good content every time.
You might have noticed that I am somewhat anonymous on this blog. I don't have much of a profile, pictures or even my name listed. This is because I want to feel free to write about anything and not be judged personally by anyone who might know me. Interestingly enough, I never tell anyone I know about this blog. The only people that find it are those who find it through a search or through a link from another site. While this makes it more difficult to get readers, it does get the ones who are looking for the content that they will find here. In 2012 I will continue to write entries in this blog.
